Music Performance Certificate
Certificate programs in music are designed for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree or the international equivalent. These are non-degree programs; students do not earn a formal award from Judson University. Rather, students are prepared to go into graduate studies in music.
This certificate program is designed for individuals looking for intensive music performance study both as a soloist and an ensemble musician in order to enhance their employment opportunities or prepare for graduate studies. Both a 1-year and a 2-year program are available.
Important Notes
- This is a non-degree program; students do not earn a formal award from Judson University. Rather, students are prepared to go into graduate studies in music.
- Prospective certificate students are expected to have an undergraduate degree or the international equivalent. In the absence of a degree, a candidate must demonstrate advanced performance skills and/or extensive teaching experience at the level generally expected of an applicant for graduate study in music performance.
- International students are required to submit a TOEFL score to be admitted to the program. The minimum score is TOEFL IBT 61. The Music Department may choose to admit applicants whose TOEFL scores are below the required score. In such cases, the applicants may be required to complete additional English requirements.
- Students may choose a 1-year or a 2-year track.

Preparatory Certificate in Music Performance (Two-Year Plan)
Academic planning is the student's responsibility. This Graduation Plan is designed to be a guide to assist students as they plan their course selections. This is only a suggested schedule, and is not a substitute for a student's Degree Audit, nor the Program Requirements in the Judson University Catalog. Actual course selections should be made with the advice and approval of an academic advisor. Students should become familiar with the catalog in effect at the time at which they entered the institution.
