RISE Daily Living (RDL)

RDL010  Residential Life Skills I:Foundations of Independent Living  (2 course hours)  
This course teaches students the essential skills needed to live successfully in a shared dorm environment. Students will learn how to manage their time, maintain personal and shared spaces, practice hygiene routines, build executive functioning skills, and develop positive social interactions within their residential community. The course emphasizes real-life practice, self-awareness, and guided independence.
RDL011  Residential Life Skills II:Appld Independence Community Living  (2 course hours)  
This second-semester course builds on the foundational skills learned in Semester 1 and focuses on applying those skills more independently. Students will deepen their understanding of executive functioning, enhance personal routines, develop stronger social and communication skills, and become more confident managing life in a shared dorm. Content emphasizes consistency, problem-solving, respect for shared spaces, and adult daily living habits.
RDL020  Advanced Residential Life Skills I:Increasing Independence/Responsblty  (2 course hours)  
This course builds on the foundational skills learned in Year 1 and prepares students for greater independence in a residential setting. Students will refine personal routines, strengthen executive functioning, take greater responsibility for their shared and personal spaces, practice advanced communication skills, and develop the capacity to manage daily life with decreasing staff support. The course emphasizes adult-level expectations, problem solving, and increasing accountability.
RDL021  Advanced Residential Life Skill II:Transition Readiness/Adult Living  (2 course hours)  
This second-semester course prepares students for life beyond the residential program by teaching practical adult living skills, strengthening independence, and building confidence in navigating real-world situations. Students will learn about workplace communication, community safety, adult relationships, stress management, budgeting, housing readiness, and self-advocacy. Emphasis is placed on preparation for next steps—whether that is independent living, supported living, employment, or further education.
